
Two hunters have died in Garrard County in separate accidental shootings.
The first accidental shooting occurred Saturday morning at approximately 9:30 near the Buckeye community when 77-year-old Russell Stillwell, of Indiana, tripped and fell, accidentally shooting himself.
On Sunday afternoon at approximately 5:00, 26-year-old Benjamin Brogle Jr., of Garrard County, was walking through dense brush when he fell, resulting in his rifle shooting and killing him, according to multiple media reports.
Both hunters were with family members at the time of the accidental shootings.
The modern gun deer hunting season opened on Saturday.
