A two-year-old child is dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and police are looking for his parents.
The Covington Police Department on Monday afternoon at approximately 12:45 was dispatched to Skyline View Flats apartment complex on Warren Street on the report of a two-year-old boy being shot.
The child was transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The child’s mother, 23-year-old Selena Farrell, left the hospital before detectives arrived. Covington police told FOX19.com that Farrell has an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.
Police do not believe Farrell was at the residence when the child shot himself.
The child’s father, who called 911, ran into a wooded area near the apartment complex. Police continue to search for him.
