Three fire departments responded to a residential blaze on Owensboro Road.
Tuesday afternoon at approximately 3:20, the Leitchfield, Falls of Rough and Caneyville Fire Departments responded to the blaze in the 4900 block of Owensboro Road. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found flames coming from the front of the wood-frame structure.
Firefighters entered the burning home and battled the blaze from inside while other fire personnel fought the fire from the outside front and right side of the home.
It took firefighters about 90 to extinguish the fire and complete an overhaul (investigate for hot spots) of the structure.
Leitchfield Fire Chief Tim Duvall said the fire began in an electric wall heater in the home’s living room.
There were no injuries reported and firefighters cleared the scene at 5:00 p.m.
