Wednesday night at about 7:30, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1314 Anneta Road, in front of Woosley Outfitters, on the report of a vehicle off the roadway.

Upon arriving at the scene, Deputy Taylor Logsdon found that a 135,000 pound crane truck, owned by Crane Services Inc., out of Texas, had driven off the shoulder of the road as it traveled south.

The vehicle, partially in a ditch, was unable to be driven back onto Anneta Road, resulting in a tow truck being called to remove the crane truck.

Traffic on Anneta Road in both directions was slowed, but not completely stopped for about 90 minutes. The roadway was then closed for about 30 minutes as the crane truck was removed from the side of the road.

The road’s shoulder was severely damaged by the two ton crane truck. State road workers responded to the scene and patched the affected section of the shoulder.

Special Deputy Mark Stanton and Deputy Mark Newman assisted at the scene.
