Early Monday morning, a Fort Knox soldier was arrested for attempted murder after he fired a gun several times at an acquaintance of his estranged wife.
Police were called to the 6600 block of South Wilson Road in Radcliff at approximately 1:45 Monday morning after 33-year-old Gregory Rich broke into his wife’s apartment and fired at least five shots, according to a report in the News Enterprise.
The shooting victim didn’t appear to have life-threatening injuries, Radcliff police told the newspaper. He was transported to University of Louisville Hospital. Rich’s estranged wife was unhurt.
Rich was charged with attempted murder, burglary, wanton endangerment, and criminal mischief, and lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.
