A 21-year-old man has perished in a crossover, head-on crash involving a teenage driver.

Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the crash Sunday afternoon at approximately 3:50 on Brindle Ridge Road about five miles north of Mt. Vernon in Rockcastle County

The state police investigation showed that a 2015 Ford F-250, being driven by a male juvenile, of Brodhead, was traveling south on Brindle Ridge Road when he crossed the center line and into the path of a northbound 2005 Dodge Neon, being driven by 21-year-old Jacob Madden, of Berea. The two vehicles then hit head-on.

Madden was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Rockcastle County Coroner’s Office.

The juvenile driver and juvenile passenger in the F-250 were transported to Rockcastle Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Trooper Shane Bowling is leading the ongoing investigation.
