A shooting suspect is on the run in a stolen vehicle.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a shooting Thursday morning at approximately 9:30 on Hickory Ridge Road.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered that a male, Richard Birge, had been shot by Timmy Jackson with a shotgun. Jackson then fled the scene in a silver 2002 Chevrolet Silverado. The truck, police said, was stolen Thursday morning in Burkesville.
Birge was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Jackson remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous, the sheriff’s office said.
