A man has been arrested after shooting a woman in the head and setting a residence on fire.
The Glasgow Police Department said officers responded Tuesday night to the report of a shooting at 129 McGraw Avenue. Upon police arriving, officers located a female victim with gunshot wounds to her head and arm, according to Glasgow police.
The suspect, 58-year-old Shane R. Reece, of Glasgow, “remained inside the residence for a short time before setting fire to the bedroom area,” police said. He then exited the residence through the back door where he was taken into custody.
The victim was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital before being taken to University of Louisville Hospital.
The Glasgow Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
Reece was arrested and charged with attempted murder (domestic violence), first-degree arson, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and torture of a dog or cat. He was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center on a $750,000 cash bond.
