Two Grayson County residents have been arrested for committing two burglaries on the same day.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joseph Thomas and Nickolas Montgomery and charged each with second-degree burglary, receiving stolen property (over $1,000, less than $10,000) and first-degree criminal trespassing, according to the Beech Tree News.
Both suspects were lodged in the Butler County Jail.
The offenses took place on Wednesday, May 21, when the duo is accused of burglarizing the property in the 1900 block of McKendree Chapel Road where jewelry, a go-cart and other items were stolen.
A Honda 4-wheeler was stolen later that same day from the 1700 block of Al Embry Road.
Police were able to identify the license plate of the truck hauling the Honda, which led deputies to the 600 block of Bryant Hollow Road, northeast of Morgantown, where they made contact with the suspects and recovered the stolen items.
The Beech Tree News reports that the burglaries may be connected to Kentucky State Police arresting two Caneyville residents, 48-year-old Patrick Fegan and 46-year-old Melinda Parks, on Thursday after Fegan fled from a trooper. According to Fegan’s arrest citation, the vehicle he was driving was thought to be involved in a burglary in Butler County.
Fegan and Parks, according to the Grayson County Detention Center, have not yet had burglary-related counts added to their current list of charges.
