An eastern Kentucky man has been arrested for kidnapping and raping a child under the age of 12, and a woman has been jailed for attempting to hide the suspect.
The Bell County Sheriff’ Office said deputies and the Pineville Police Department arrested 35-year-old Randall Storms, of Pineville, and charged him with kidnapping (minor), first-degree rape (incapable of consent), first-degree sexual abuse (victim under 12 years of age), third-degree terroristic threatening, and procuring or promoting use of a minor by electronic means.
When police arrived at a home on Mary Street in Pineville to arrest Storms, 53-year-old Mary Hunter, also of Pineville, told officers Storms was not there.
“She also attempted to distract the deputies while Storms attempted to flee back into the residence,” according to the sheriff’s office.
Hunter was also arrested and charged with hindering prosecution, second-degree menacing and disorderly conduct.
Both suspects were lodged in the Bell County Detention Center. Storms is being held on a $250,000 cash bond.
