
Carrie Letha Saltsman, age 72, of Leitchfield, Kentucky, gently departed from this world on June 4, 2025, in Owensboro. Born on October 30, 1952, Carrie was the beloved daughter of the late George Washington Williams Jr. and the late Sara Elizabeth “Lizzy” Shartzer Williams.
She is now united with her siblings, Herman Williams, James Henry Williams, Gladys Cornelius, and Charlotte Brenda Williams, who have also passed before her.
Carrie was known for her warm spirit and her passion for piecing together quilts that echoed the love she had for her family. A devoted gardener, she found joy in nurturing her plants and sharing the fruits of her labor with those she loved. As a cherished member of God’s Mission Church, Carrie’s faith profoundly shaped her life and those around her.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Jimmy L. Saltsman, her beloved children, Kendall Williams, Dossie Rankin and Rosa Saltsman. Additionally, Carrie is survived by her four adoring grandchildren, Nikki Golden, Hunter Hodges, Landria Spencer, and Austin Williams, and her treasured great-grandchild, Ava Hash.
A funeral service in celebration of Carrie’s life will take place at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Leitchfield Funeral Home. Bro. Kenneth “JR” Smiley and Bro. Hank Gibson will officiate, guiding those who gather to share their love and memories of Carrie. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Bill Newton Cemetery, a final resting place where family and friends may visit to reflect on her life and legacy.
Visitation will be held at Leitchfield Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, June 8, 2025, and again on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 2:00 PM.
