A man has died after a moped collided with a stopped vehicle.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the accident Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 to the 900 block of North Laurel Road near London.
The investigation showed that a 2024 TaoTao moped, being driven by 74-year-old Ronald Begley Sr., of London, and a 2024 Chevrolet Trax, being driven by 67-year-old Darlne Maggard, of McKee, were traveling north on North Laurel Road when the Chevy stopped to make a left turn, state police said.
Begley, who police said was not wearing a helmet, then crashed into the rear of the Chevy. He was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in London where he was pronounced deceased by the Laurel Co. Coroner’s Office.
No other injuries were reported.
