Sammy Joseph Garlinger, age 55, of Westview, KY, passed away Wednesday, (June 11, 2025) at University of Louisville Hospital.
He was born on December 29, 1969 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late George and Doris McNalley Garlinger.
He was a scraper who enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching racing and other shows on TV, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Hayes Garlinger of Westview, his children Casey Hinton and Cody Garlinger (Shawnee) both of Hardinsburg, Pixie Garlinger, Rebecca Martinez, Gabriella Martinez & Bryanna Martinez, all of Westview, Gabrielle Renfro (Ray) of Millwood & August Lawrence (Peggy) of Louisville; five grandchildren, and two brothers, Edward “Bubby” Garlinger of Westview & Charles “Ninny” Garlinger of Custer, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Garlinger; two grandchildren, Grayson Bogard & Dante Renfro; two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, (June 19, 2025) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Peonia Annex Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the family to assist with final expenses.
