
An Elizabethtown man serving time for engaging in organized crime and drug trafficking has walked away from custody.
Kentucky State Police said 28-year-old Jarod Ryan Barnes walked away from Bluegrass Career and Development Center in Richmond on Sunday evening at approximately 6:45.
(The Bluegrass Career and Development Center, located at 549 Recycle Drive, provides career services, including job placement and training, to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment.)
Barnes, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, was convicted in June 2023 in Hardin County for engaging in organized crime and trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine). He was given a 20-year sentence.
Police said Barnes is a black male standing five feet, nine inches tall and weighing 206 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white tank top, black sweatpants and tennis shoes. Barnes has several tattoos on his chest and arms.
