Bro. Hayward Wilkerson, age 90, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (June 22, 2025) in the Hosparus House Inpatient Care Center at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born on February 23, 1935 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Everett and Lois Haycraft Wilkerson.

He was a retired farmer and a Grayson County School bus driver for 24 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, farming, and spending time with his family and friends. He loved attending church and singing. He was a member of Pleasant Valley United Baptist Church and was a Baptist preacher.

He is survived by two daughters, Elois Humphrey (David) of Leitchfield, KY, and Pam McCrady (Jimmy) of Bardstown, KY; a son, Karl Wilkerson (Patsy) of Clarkson, KY; five grandchildren, Josh McCrady, Erica Cole, Heather Powell, Tyler Wilkerson, and Kayla Wilkerson; five great-grandchildren, Aiden McCrady, Avery McCrady, Adalynn Wilkerson, Kolton Wilkerson, and Carter Wilkerson; one brother, David Wilkerson of Louisville, KY.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, Everett and Lois Haycraft Wilkerson, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eula Beeler Wilkerson, whom he married on April 23, 1954; two sisters, Zada Williams and Lucille Harder; brothers, Garland Wilkerson, Edgar Wilkerson, Sherman Wilkerson, Loy Wilkerson, and Burlin Wilkerson; and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, (June 26, 2025) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Cecil Williams will be officiating. Burial will be in the Clarkson Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
