Geneva Odell King, age 71, of Leitchfield, KY, was called home by the Lord, July 2, 2025 at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born the eldest daughter of ten on July 3, 1953 to the late Earnest Ray and Cuba Elaine Logsdon Sandlin.

She was a homemaker and hobbyists. She enjoyed sewing, attending craft fairs, yard sales, and fishing. She loved spending her Sundays in church where she exemplified faith and devotion to God. She was a long standing member of New Freedom Church and faithfully attended the Little Church in Shrewsbury.

She married her late husband, Cyrus King. Jr. on January 4, 1969. Together they created a beautiful home for their nine children. She devoted her life to being the best mother and Mamaw.

Geneva is survived by her children, Melinda Buam (John), Jonathan King (Bobbi), Margaret Butler (Nic), Gabriel King (Shelly), Emmanuel King, and Mellonee Tilford (Daniel); 26 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren; siblings, Velzie Sandlin, Hobey Sandlin, Leland Sandlin, Gladys Whobrey, Nedra Sandlin, Marcella Ndiaye, and Alain Sandlin.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Cyrus King, Jr.; sons, Clevan Earl King and Kalvin Lynn King; daughter, Melissa Ann King; sister, Annabell Decker; and brother, Aubrey Sandlin.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, (July 6, 2025) at The Little Church in Shrewsbury with Bro. William Dodson officiating. Burial will be in the New Freedom Cemetery.

Visitation will be at The Little Church in Shrewsbury from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until time of service.
