Freelyn Dewayne Stanton, age 77, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (July 01, 2025) at his home.
He was born on August 25, 1947 in Laurel Run, KY, the son of the late Harvey and Pernie Stasel Stanton.
A Veteran of the US Army, Freelyn was a carpenter who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the American Legion Post 81.
He is survived by his loving partner of more than 30 years, Gail Porter of Leitchfield, two sons, Jody Stanton & Kyle Stanton (Robin) of Mt. Washington, KY; a daughter, Stacey Stanton (Shane) of Leitchfield; Three step-daughters, Tresa Porter, Tracey Porter, & Tammy Butts, all of Maryland; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three brothers, Danny Stanton (Guyanne) of Sonora, KY, Doug Stanton of Cecilia, KY & Hans Stanton of Elizabethtown, KY; two sisters, Lois Murphy of Elizabethtown, & Lisa Muegge (Art) of Arnold, MO. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Stanton; a brother, Steve Stanton; and a brother-in-law, Roger Murphy.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen.
