A Grayson County teenager was airlifted after being struck by a car on Owensboro Road.
Grayson County Chief Deputy Sonny Poteet, the Leitchfield Fire Department and EMS responded to the incident in the 6900 block of Owensboro Road, at the intersection of Duff Road, at approximately 11:05 Friday morning.
Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found that a 14-year-old boy riding a bicycle west on Owensboro Road had been struck, apparently in the rear (the back wheel of the bike was mangled), by a westbound vehicle, according to Leitchfield Fire Chief Tim Duvall. The teenager was tossed into a ditch.
He was airlifted to a Louisville hospital after displaying symptoms of a possible head injury.
