One person is dead and another is under arrest after a DUI crash.
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the wreck Friday night at midnight on American Greeting Card Road, approximately 11 miles south of London.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Tahoe, being driven south by 55-year-old Kimberly Hedrick, crossed the center line in a curve and hit head-on a northbound Chevrolet Aveo, being driven by 55-year-old Benita Vickers, of Corbin.
The Tahoe then struck a Hyundai SUV, being driven by 39-year-old David N. Wynn, of London. Wynn, who has outstanding arrest warrants, fled the scene.
Vickers was transported to Baptist Health Corbin where she was pronounced deceased. A male passenger in Vickers’ vehicle was transported to a hospital.
Hedrick suffered only minor injuries.
During the investigation, deputies detected “the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from (Hedrick’s) breath along with slurred speech,” the sheriff’s office said.
Hedrick was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide when under the influence of alcohol and lodged in Laurel County Corrections on a $50,000 cash bond.
