A massive fire has destroyed a large garage and truck near Anneta.
The Anneta and Leitchfield Fire Departments and Grayson Co. Emergency Management responded to the blaze Tuesday night at approximately 9:30 in the 6800 block of Anneta Road, in the Meredith area of the county.
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found the metal-framed structure fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters worked to protect a residence, which was less than 50 feet from the garage. The home, though, suffered minor damage as the heat from the flames broke two windows.
A large above ground pool was destroyed by the heat.
The fire, according to Leitchfield Fire Chief Tim Duvall, began when someone was working on a truck in the garage. The person left the truck and when he returned, a fire had started. Duvall said the fire probably originated under the hood of the truck.
No injuries were reported as firefighters cleared the scene at approximately 11:10 p.m.
