
A Hardyville man has been jailed after being accused of raping a child, videoing the crime and sending the video to someone.
The Hart County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Christopher Hawkins after the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office conducted an investigation that showed Hawkins “had uploaded a video of a young child engaged in a sexual act,” according to a report by WNKY.com.
The arrest citation states that Hawkins confessed to having sexual contact with the victim, recording the video and sending the video to someone, WNKY.com reports.
Hawkins was charged with first-degree rape (victim under the age of 12), use of a minor in a sex performance (victim under the age of 16) and distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor (victim under the age of 12).
He was also served with a failure to appear warrant.
Hawkins is being held in the Hart County Jail on a $150,000 cash bond.
