A man has been jailed after he threw a game controller at his girlfriend but instead hit their five-week-old baby boy, causing skull fractures and a brain bleed.
Louisville Metro Police arrested 31-year-old Steven Harris on Wednesday after he severely injured the baby on August 31, according to multiple media reports.
Harris, police said, was in an argument with his girlfriend when he threw the controller at her. The device struck the infant in the head, causing life-threatening injuries.
The baby was transported to Norton Children’s Hospital. He’s in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Harris was charged with assault and criminal abuse of a child (victim under the age of 12) and lodged in Louisville Metro Corrections.
