Middle school student killed in ATV crash

A middle school student has died in an ATV crash.

The accident happened on Thursday night and resulted in the death of 12-year-old Lindsey N. Marshall, a seventh-grade student and cheerleader at Simons Middle School, according to Fleming County Schools. Lindsey died on Friday at University of Kentucky Medical Center.

No information regarding the crash has been released.

“She loved to fish and swim, and she was a roller coaster fanatic. She loved music. Her family, friends, and animals were everything to her,” her obituary says.

Fleming County Schools on Friday released the following statement on Lindsey’s death:

Fleming County Schools is heartbroken to share the passing of Lindsey Marshall, a seventh grader at Simons Middle School, following a tragic accident.

Lindsey was full of life, a loyal friend to many, and a cheerleader whose energy and smile lifted every person and every room she entered. 

“Our entire Fleming County Schools family grieves with Lindsey’s family,” Superintendent Dr. Brian K. Creasman said. 

“In times of sorrow, our community has always leaned on one another,” Creasman added. “That strength is needed now more than ever. Together, we will walk through this loss and surround Lindsey’s family and friends with love, prayers, and support.”
