A juvenile has jumped from a bridge onto the Bluegrass Parkway in Nelson County.
The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched Monday night at approximately 7:05 to the Woodlawn Road bridge that spans the Bluegrass Parkway on the report of a female “possibly attempting to jump off” the bridge.
“Within minutes after deputies arrived, the female jumped off the bridge onto the slow lane of the westbound Bluegrass Parkway,” the sheriff’s office said.
The responding deputy “scaled the embankment quickly keeping her safe from traffic” until EMS arrived on scene.
The female, a juvenile, was initially transported to Norton Children’s Hospital before being transferred to University of Louisville Hospital.
In an update, the sheriff’s office said in a social media post that the juvenile is “stable” and “doing good.”
Assisting at the scene were the Bardstown Fire Department and Bloomfield Police Department.
