A vehicle was stolen from the same Hardin County neighborhood where a stolen vehicle was recovered.

On Tuesday morning at approximately 2:30, Kentucky State Police was notified by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office regarding the recovery of a Mercedes stolen out of Elizabethtown and recovered in Radcliff, according to Kentucky State Police Post 4 Public Affairs Officer Bryan Washer.

During the investigation, Washer said troopers learned a second vehicle, a Mazda SUV, had been stolen from a residence in the same Radcliff neighborhood where the Mercedes was found, and was believed to be traveling in the Louisville area.

Troopers responded to Greenwood Road and Terry Road in Pleasure Ridge Park, Washer said, where the stolen Mazda was located near the intersection of Terry Road and Morning Glory Lane.

When troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled the scene. After a short pursuit, though, troopers stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Terry Road and Tearose Drive.

The juvenile driver exited the vehicle and after a brief foot pursuit was taken into custody without further incident.

The juvenile was lodged in Louisville Metro Youth Transitional Services and charged with receiving stolen property (more than $10,000), first-degree wanton endangerment (of a police officer), two counts of fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle, on foot), first-degree criminal mischief, and no operator’s license.

The case remains under investigation by Trooper Joseph Pineiroa, who was assisted by Troopers Trevor Vandermolen and Robert Moster as well as the Louisville Metro Police Department.
