A Grayson County teenager was airlifted after a single-vehicle crash on Peonia Road.
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Anneta Fire Department and EMS responded to the accident Sunday morning at approximately 2:00 in the 8500 block of Peonia Road (Hwy 88).
Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found that a westbound Jeep Cherokee’s passenger side wheels briefly left the roadway in a downhill curve. Based on marks at the scene, the driver overcorrected, as the vehicle crossed both lanes of traffic and struck an embankment.
The vehicle, which also hit a fence pole, appeared to flip at least once as it traveled down a steep embankment.
The vehicle contained two male teenagers. One of the teens appeared to suffer no injuries, while the other was transported by EMS to Leitchfield-Grayson County Airport where Anneta firefighters set up a landing zone, as the teen was airlifted to a Louisville hospital.
