A man has died in a UTV crash in Knott County.
Kentucky State Police said the accident happened on Saturday evening at approximately 9:45 on Starfire Haul Road in Talcum, about 20 miles northeast of Hazard.
The investigation revealed that 26-year-old that Chase Caudill, of McDowell, was driving a Polaris UTV with a female passenger when the vehicle overturned, according to state police.
As a result of the rollover, Caudill was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Knott County Coroner’s Office.
The female passenger was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“At the time of the collision, neither occupant was utilizing a seat belt or wearing a helmet,” state police said in a press release.
Toxicology results are pending, and the crash remains under investigation by Trooper Kyle Amburgey.
