A Grayson County man suffered a probable medical emergency before crashing head-on into a tree.
Leitchfield Police Officers Bart Glenn and Greg Whobrey, the Leitchfield Fire Department and EMS responded to the accident Thursday afternoon at approximately 2:40 in the 2200 block of Beaver Dam Road (Hwy 62).
Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found that a Ford Ranger, being driven west by a 73-year-old man, had left the roadway and traveled over a rock embankment. The Ford then traveled about 50 yards and struck a tree head-on.
The driver was transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center by EMS where he was airlifted to Jewish Hospital.
It’s probable, according to Leitchfield Fire Chief Tim Duvall, that the man suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash.
