A second serious road rage shooting has occurred in Hardin County in less than three weeks.

The second incident occurred Saturday morning at approximately 2:45 on East Dixie Avenue, near the Elizabethtown Town Square, when Elizabethtown police responded to report of shots fired at a 2016 Lincoln MKZ occupied by three adults, according to Elizabethtown Police Department Public Affairs Officer John Thomas.

The suspect, later identified as 28-year-old Kevin Felix, of Louisville, was driving a white Toyota 4Runner, as the victims told police that Felix pulled out in front of them, “causing them to brake abruptly,” Thomas said.

A road rage encounter ensued, during which Felix motioned for the victims to pass.

“As the victims’ vehicle passed and continued south on East Dixie Avenue, the suspect fired a shot through their rear windshield with a .38 caliber revolver,” Thomas said.

The suspect then drove alongside the victims’ vehicle on the passenger side and fired two additional rounds.

Investigators located one bullet hole in the passenger-side rear area of the victims’ car.

None of the occupants were injured.

“Elizabethtown’s Flock safety camera system and other city surveillance cameras were instrumental in identifying the suspect and his vehicle during the investigation,” Thomas noted.

Felix was arrested and charged with three counts of felony wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

He was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.

A previous road rage incident that involved shots fired took place on September 18 near Central Hardin High School near Cecilia and resulted in the arrest of 50-year-old Jeremy Yates, of Eastview, who was accused of shooting a vehicle containing two people. For more on that story, click here.
