
An Elizabethtown man has been arrested for allegedly raping and sodomizing a woman incapable of consent of physically helpless.
The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office said that investigators “received a report from Baptist Health Hardin regarding a sexual assault” on August 31.
The sheriff’s office Criminal Investigations Division immediately began an investigation, conducting interviews with both the victim and the suspect.
As a result of the investigation, 47-year-old Casey R. Nichols, of Elizabethtown, was arrested and charged with first-degree rape (incapable of consent or physically helpless) and first-degree sodomy ((incapable of consent or physically helpless).
He was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
