A man has died in an accident in a construction zone.
Kentucky State Police said the crash occurred Tuesday just before noon on Hwy 519 at the Morgan -Rowan County line.
The state police investigation showed that 68-year-old Donnie Smith, of West Liberty, was driving a Buick Rainier south when he crossed the center line and struck several construction barrels before colliding head-on with a parked construction truck occupied by 57-year-old Anthony Thomas, of Owingsville.
Smith was transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead where he was pronounced deceased. Thomas was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Leo Leal.
