A country music star from Kentucky and his wife are contributing $500,000 to a group of over two dozen charities.
Tyler Childers, 34, of Louisa in Lawrence County, and his wife Senora May, 34, originally from Estill County, through the couple’s Hickman Holler Appalachian Relief Fund, announced the half-million-dollar donation spread across Appalachian Region charities in “celebration of our 5-year anniversary,” the couple said in a social media post.
The organizations are “doing incredible work that we believe in whole-heartedly,” they said.
“We are beyond thrilled to be able to give so much back to the community that has fostered and nurtured us,” the couple added. “None of it would be possible without you, and for that you have our endless gratitude. Your support, even just on socials or by word of mouth, helps us further causes we truly believe in. Thank you for all you help us do.”
