Kentucky State Police has charged a 21-year-old man with 20 counts of distributing child pornography.
The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch on Monday charged 21-year-old James M. Calvert, of Winchester, with 20 counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance. The charges are class B felonies punishable by up to twenty years in prison.
Calvert was lodged in the Clark County Detention Center on a $35,000 cash bond.
The investigation began after authorities discovered Calvert was sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Calvert’s Winchester residence where equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination, state police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
