Grayson County’s Layla Escue has announced her commitment to play volleyball at Lindsey Wilson College.

Escue, a senior middle blocker for the Lady Cougars, ranks second on the team with 228 kills and has over 500 for her career.

“She’s very spirited, a great teammate, and has a determination about her to get better,” GCHS head coach Shane Decker said. “All of these things will continue to benefit her as she goes on to continue to play at the next level. Extremely proud of her!”

Lindsey Wilson is having a strong season with a 24-9 mark. The year has been highlighted by a win over the nation’s #10 team at the time: Missouri Baptist.

“Layla is a great local talent,” Blue Raider head coach Josh Kreiner said. “She has really grown into a great leader over the past two seasons. She is fast and athletic and covers a ton of ground.”

Escue and the Lady Cougars have already won a district championship and will compete for the 3rd Region crown this week at Owensboro.
