
Debris in the roadway resulted in a fatal crash on I-65 in Warren County.
Kentucky State Police said the accident happened Monday morning at approximately 3:00 near the 10-mile marker of southbound I-65.
State police said the investigation showed that a 2019 Toyota Highlander, being driven by 49-year-old Johnathan Barnes, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, struck an object in the roadway, disabling the vehicle in the lanes of travel.
Then, a southbound semi-truck, being driven by 35-year-old Kaeleb Huntsman, of Deputy, Indiana, struck the same object, resulting in the semi crashing into the Toyota, state police said.
Barnes was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Warren County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Trooper Grant Robertson.
