A woman has been found shot to death at an eastern Kentucky residence.
Kentucky State Police said troopers were notified on Thursday about an unresponsive female at a residence on E Back Street in McDowell, a small community in Floyd County.
The state police investigation showed that 34-year-old Jill Howell, of Prestonsburg, had suffered a fatal gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Floyd County Coroner’s Office.
Howell’s body was transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
KSP Det. Joseph Coleman is leading the investigation.
