Second woman found shot to death in Ky. in less than a week

A second woman has been found shot to death in Kentucky in less than a week.

As K105 reported on Tuesday, 34-year-old Jill Howell, of Prestonsburg, was found on Thursday, October 23 in a residence in McDowell, in Floyd County, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.

No arrests have been made in the case.

On Wednesday morning at approximately 12:40, the Simpsonville Police Department responded to Veechdale Apartments in the 200 block of Buck Creek Road on the report of shots fired, according to media reports.

Upon arriving at the apartment, police found a female suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The case, police said, is being investigated as a homicide.

Her identity has not yet been released.

No arrests have been made.
