In a somewhat amusing development, Kentucky’s secretary of state received calls asking why polls in Kentucky were not open on Tuesday.
Sec. of State Michael Adams’ office received so many calls asking why the state’s voting polls were closed that he authored a Facebook post.
“We’re getting calls about polls being closed. They are closed because we do not have elections today. Kentucky votes next year.”
Adams continued, reminding callers that they can’t vote in the gubernatorial election in Virginia or the mayoral race in New York City.
- “You cannot vote today in Kentucky for the mayor of New York or the Governor of Virginia. Sorry.”
Adams must have forgotten about Tuesday’s gubernatorial election in New Jersey.
The Kentucky 2026 Primary Election is scheduled for May 19. The 2026 General Election in Kentucky is slated for November 3.
