Two men have been arrested in eastern Kentucky with over two pounds of deadly fentanyl.

The Carter County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43-year-old Craig Horton, of Grayson, and 35-year-old Anton Glynn-Miles, of Detroit, Michigan, after police seized 2.4 pounds of fentanyl as part of an ongoing investigation.

The fentanyl was packaged in over 10,000 individual doses and was discovered with the assistance of a K-9 unit, according to WSAZ.com.

According to the DEA, one kilogram (2.2 pounds) of fentanyl, due to its potency, “has the potential to kill 500,000 people.”

Both men were charged with aggravated trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl) and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Glynn-Miles was also served with a fugitive warrant out of Ohio.

The suspects are lodged in the Carter County Detention Center.
