
A tornado caused damage in Todd County during a weekend storm.
The National Weather Service (NWS) said an EF-1 tornado, packing winds with a top speed of 98 miles per hour, touched down two miles north of Guthrie at 12:38 a.m. Saturday.
Several trees were snapped in half, as the tornado also flipped a “pivot irrigation system” and destroyed a small outbuilding, according to the NWS. It additionally damaged several other smaller buildings nearby. Power poles were also snapped in half.
The twister was on the ground for three minutes and traveled 1.65 miles, the NWS reports. The tornado was 75 yards wide.
Guthrie is town of about 1,300 residents nestled on the Tennessee border.
No injuries have been reported.
