An eastern Kentucky man has been arrested after breaking a broom by hitting a woman in the back.
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office responded on Thursday morning at 12:30 a.m. to Valley Lane, approximately two miles south of London, on the report of an assault.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found 30-year-old Ronnie D. Osborne Jr., of London, “outside the residence on the ground rolling around and screaming and cursing,” the sheriff’s office said in a social media post.
The investigation found that Osborne and a female had been in a verbal altercation when Osborne is accused of breaking a broom over the woman’s back.
The woman responded by spraying Osborne with pepper spray.
Osborne was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault, public intoxication (controlled substance) and second-degree disorderly conduct. He was lodged in Laurel County Corrections, but he is no longer listed as an inmate.
