
One student has been killed and another critically injured in a shooting at Kentucky State University (KSU) in Frankfort.
The shooting happened Tuesday at approximately 3:10 p.m. on the south side of the school’s campus near Young Hall, according to the Frankfort Police Department. Frankfort police said officers arrived on the scene at 3:14 p.m.
Two students were shot. Both victims were transported to a local hospital where one of the victims died. The second victim, Frankfort police said, is currently in critical condition.
Frankfort police said in a press conference that the shooting suspect, who is not a KSU student, was quickly taken into custody by KSU campus police.
Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing danger on campus.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by the Frankfort Police Department.
