A driver hydroplaned on Anneta Road and became stuck on an earthen embankment, stopping the vehicle from hitting a house.

Grayson County Chief Deputy Sonny Poteet, the Leitchfield Fire Department and EMS responded to the crash Wednesday morning at approximately 8:45 in the 1200 block of Anneta Road.

Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found that a northbound Saturn Vue, being driven by a woman in her 60s from Edmonson County, hydroplaned and left the roadway. The vehicle traveled about 60 yards off the roadway, missing a large tree by only two feet, before hitting an earthen embankment.

The vehicle, which became stuck on top of the embankment, would have struck a residence if it had not been lodged on the embankment.

The driver, who complained of back pain, refused transport.
