James Roland Richardson, age 94, of Summit, was born December 4, 1931, in Hardin County and passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the Carl M. Brashear Veterans Center in Radcliff.

Roland was a founding member of Summit Church of Christ and helped in constructing the church building. He served as a lay minister for several congregations and found great joy in singing bass in gospel music. An Air Force veteran, Roland proudly served during the Korean Conflict. He was the former owner and operator of Hometown Tire Shop and a farmer. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling and staying busy. Roland was deeply loving and always sought the opportunity to help others. Known for his generosity, he would give his last dollar to someone in need and took special pride in supporting his great-grandchildren’s education.

Roland was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathryn Hart Richardson; his parents Levi and Gertrude Craig Richardson; four brothers and six sisters and a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Beauchamp Richardson (Jeffrey).

Roland is survived by his four children, Jeff Richardson (Claudia), Cheryle Beauchamp (Cecil), Jamie Collard (Rick) and Barrett Richardson; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren, Francis, Stetson, Benjamin and Michael and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM (CST), Friday, January 16, 2026, at Rogers Funeral Home in Clarkson with Bro. Aaron Keeton officiating. Burial will follow in the Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM (CST), Thursday and after 9 AM (CST), Friday at the funeral home.
