A wanted Leitchfield felon has been arrested by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office.

Bailey D. Hack, 28, absconded from parole, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, after being convicted in Grayson County in June 2023 for fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle) and possession of synthetic drugs. He was also convicted in Grayson County in July 2023 for second-degree strangulation.

He was arrested on Wednesday evening at Peter Cave on a parole violation warrant in addition to new charges, including fleeing or evading police, driving on a DUI suspended license, reckless driving, and second-degree criminal mischief along with non-moving violations, according to the arrest citation.

Hack was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

Incident leading to convictions

The fleeing or evading police and possession of synthetic drugs convictions resulted from Hack’s arrest by the Leitchfield Police Department on the evening of December 16, 2022, when he was found passed out in a vehicle in the 500 block of Aaron Way.

When police arrived at the scene, officers made contact with Hack, who was unconscious in a Honda passenger car in the middle of the road. Upon waking Hack, he sped away for a few hundred feet before Aaron Way makes a hard left turn (prior to the street coming to a dead end). He made the turn and almost immediately made another left turn into a side yard.

Hack traveled through the side yard and into the back yard of a home and the front yard of another residence before coming to a stop partially on the roadway, near where officers originally found him. Hack then ran from officers and attempted to hide behind a residence but was quickly captured.

During his attempt to flee police, Hack damaged private property, including a mailbox that was found on the Honda’s hood.

During a search of Hack’s vehicle, police found spice (synthetic marijuana).

Hack was at that time charged with two counts of fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle, on foot), his second DUI (aggravating circumstances), possession of synthetic drugs (at least his second such offense), third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, third-degree criminal trespassing, failure to maintain insurance, and no registration plates.

He was then indicted by a Grayson County Grand Jury in March 2023 on two counts of fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle, on foot), his second DUI (aggravating circumstances), possession of synthetic drugs (at least his second such offense), third-degree criminal mischief, and failure to maintain insurance.
