
An intruder was shot by a homeowner during a home invasion.
The incident happened on Friday at approximately 5:00 p.m. at a residence in the 600 block of Fowler Road in north Madisonville. Upon Hopkins County deputies arriving at the scene, they discovered the homeowner had shot an intruder inside the home.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office told news outlets that the intruder forced his way into the home, resulting in an altercation between the suspect and resident. At some point during the incident, the resident retrieved a firearm and shot the suspect.
No other information was released. The shooting remains under investigation.
