Suspect accused of over 300 counts of forgery while stealing nearly $1 million from Hardin Co. woman

A suspect has been arrested after allegedly stealing nearly $1 million from a Hardin County woman.

Katrina A. Smither, 44, of Radcliff, was indicted by a Hardin County Grand Jury on nine counts of theft by unlawful taking and 304 counts of second-degree forgery.

Smither is accused of stealing approximately $800,000 from two bank accounts as well as collecting and keeping cash from rental properties owned by the victim, according to a report by The News-Enterprise. She stole the money by forging the victim’s signature.

The suspect committed the offenses beginning in March 2023.

Smither is being held in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond.
