Police in Ohio County are investigating a burglary at a Beaver Dam pharmacy.
Rice’s Pharmacy, at 1209 North Main Street, was burglarized at approximately 5:45 on Friday morning, according to the Beaver Dam Police Department.
A witness, police said, observed an orange vehicle parked in front of the business as well as two suspects dressed in all black.
“… the witness seen (sic) them exiting through the same door that they entered. The witness turned around and followed the suspects and called 911,” the Beaver Dam PD said.
The vehicle was spotted by police traveling on Hwy 231 with no headlights on.
“Law enforcement turned around to stop the vehicle; the vehicle turned onto Hwy 62 E at a high rate (of) speed, passing cars,” police said.
Due to the vehicle driving with its lights off and traveling at a high rate of speed, the officer lost sight of the fleeing car.
The vehicle, a 2022 Chevrolet Camaro, was later located, abandoned, around the 3000 block of Rob Roy Road. The investigation showed that the car was reported stolen from a Bowling Green car lot.
“We believe there are three suspects involved,” police said. “Two were inside the store and the third was driving the car.”
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information on this burglary is asked to contact the Beaver Dam PD at 270-274-7106.
