The president of a Leitchfield company has been selected to join CASA of the Heartland’s Board of Directors.

The organization announced the addition of the president of Xtreme Fabrication, Dwight A. Busche Jr., of Leitchfield, to its Board of Directors.

In this role, Busche will help guide the organization’s strategic leadership as it advocates for abused and neglected children within the family court system throughout its six-county service area,” CASA said in a news release.

With more than four decades of experience in the industrial sector, Busche has served as president of Xtreme Fabrication since 2018. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in several industry-related organizations, including serving on the Leadership Council of the National Small Business Association in 2024. He has also traveled to Washington, D.C., on multiple occasions to advocate on behalf of small business interests.

“I decided to serve as a Board Member of CASA because of my deep commitment to supporting vulnerable children who have experienced abuse or neglect, and I wanted to contribute my skills to help ensure they have a voice in the court system and access to better outcomes,” Busche said.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Busche is actively engaged in his community as a donor to the American Heart Association, Inc. In recognition of his service and contributions, he was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel by Gov. Andy Beshear in 2023.

“Dwight brings a tremendous depth of leadership experience and a strong commitment to service that will be a valuable asset to CASA of the Heartland,” said CASA of the Heartland Executive Director Michelle Kail. “We are grateful for his willingness to share his time and expertise as we continue advocating for children who need a strong, consistent voice.”

CASA of the Heartland was founded in Hardin County in 2007 to recruit, train and support community volunteers who advocate for abused, neglected and dependent children under Family Court jurisdiction. The program expanded to LaRue County in 2023, to Grayson, Meade and Breckinridge counties in 2024 and to Hart County in 2026.
