A teenager has died after accidentally shooting himself.
The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon at approximately 2:30 at a residence on Greenwood Avenue in Louisville’s California neighborhood.
When Louisville Metro Police arrived on the scene, officers discovered a 14-year-old boy had been shot. The teen was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
One of the boy’s family members told WAVE.com that the victim, who had been staying at the home, found the gun and started playing with it when he accidentally shot himself.
It’s not clear yet if anyone will face charges as a result of the incident.
